NFL analyst Charles Davis made it clear to Gene Steratore that he disagreed with one of his takes during a controversial ruling in the Green Bay Packers-Pittsburgh Steelers game on Sunday afternoon.
Davis and play-by-play man Ian Eagle were on the call for the afternoon contest at Acrisure Stadium. Steratore, a retired NFL referee who know works for CBS as a rules analyst, believed officials made the correct ruling on a questionable call that took away a potential Packers TD.
Curiously, officials ruled the play below a forward and incomplete pass by Kenny Pickett. But from the side angle below, it looks like a clear backwards pass that should have been ruled a fumble.
Steratore told Davis and Eagle that he didn’t think there was “enough” evidence to overturn the call. Davis politely told Steratore that he “vehemently” disagreed.
The Packers went on to lose 23-19, dropping to 3-6 on the season.
