Cleveland Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff is an Eagles fan to the heart, so it’s not shocking to see how upset he became at the Super Bowl crew on Sunday night.
Bickerstaff stated that while he can’t insult NBA referees, NFL referees are fair game. “I can kill them (all I want, verbally),” Bickerstaff said, via SI’s Chris Mannix.
Joking or not, that is not the type of language to use especially when there are fans out there that would bring harm to refs if given the chance.
Bickerstaff is, of course, upset about the holding penalty on James Bradberry as he tried to cover Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster late in the fourth quarter. That play allowed the Chiefs to waste so much more time for them to kick the game-winning field goal.
The Eagles would only have eight seconds of play left and they could do nothing with it.
After the game, Bradberry admitted he held Smith-Schuster on the play.
