Eagles QB Carson Wentz was amazing on Tuesday in OTAs. He still isn’t in pads, but it’s a huge step in the right direction.
Here are some observations of him during practice, via NJ.com:
“- Wentz and DeSean Jackson seem to be on the same page already, or at least developing chemistry. They already have a personalized handshake, which I imagine they’ll be using a lot this season. By my count, Wentz targeted Jackson seven times and completed five of them. Jackson might be the first player with the speed to match the power/strength Wentz has on passes down the field. Jackson had to work for a couple of his catches, too. One of Wentz’s completions to Jackson came after evading a pass rush and throwing it to him on the run. That’s going to be a fun pairing.
On one play in 7-on-7s in the red zone, Wentz lobbed it up for rookie J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, who had no issue going up and getting it for a touchdown. It was Alshon Jeffery-esque, and Arcega-Whiteside is going to force his way onto the field at least in red zone situations if he’s going to be as good in those situations as he looked on this play. With Mack Hollins still out, Arcega-Whiteside seems like the clear-cut No. 4 receiver at this point.”
On this day, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback showed off his mobility skills that should make Eagles fans extremely happy with his progress.
