With Nick Foles officially gone and signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars — the Philadelphia Eagles can no longer lean on the veteran to come in and take over if Carson Wentz and his health fails him again.
On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles starter returned to face the Philadelphia media for the first time since the Eagles season was ended in heartbreaking style by the New Orleans Saints.
Wentz said Monday that he is “feeling good” and “taking it week-by-week,” as he recovers from a broken bone in his back that kept him sidelined for the final three regular-season games in 2018 and the playoffs.
“That’s the goal,” Wentz said when asked if he would be ready for next month’s OTAs. “There’s really no timetable, no rush, but I feel good with the progression right now.”
The troubling part is the health of that broken bone:

Fortunately for him, we are still a few months out from the start of the regular season. One would think the team would love to have him play in a preseason game to see where he is mobile wise, especially when he takes that first hit and lands on his back.
