Carson Wentz has a new team, feeling like a new man and is now making the media rounds.
That led to the new Indianapolis Colts QB joined The Pat McAfee Show Friday in-studio to discuss the trade to the Colts, his excitement for the fit, his relationship with Frank Reich and Doug Pederson, and more.
During the interview, Wentz was not going to let McAfee off the hook for what he had previously said about the quarterback. McAfee asked Wentz if he had heard what was being said about him.
“Just from you,” Wentz said with a smile. “You can be a hater. We can change your opinion.”
McAfee tried to explain: “With a live daily show we can be prisoners of the moment. At the moment, Mathew Stafford was available. Aaron Rodgers was going to be traded. And you did not come out and say I hope Doug Pederson dies, with his eyes. Are we sure, just because (Colts coach) Frank (Reich) knows Carson, are we sure he’s going to get back where he was? Much different time.”
Wentz: “Back tracker. It’s cool. We’re here face to face, you can change you mind.”

McAfee: “You are much bigger than I thought you were going to be.”
Later in the segment with McAfee, Wentz addressed some of the issues with his play on the field in 2020:
“Sometimes it was mechanical, sometimes it’s thinking too much, sometimes things just didn’t go our way and that’s football and that’s life…Could I have made better decisions? 100%,” Wentz said. “I could have played better and ultimately it landed me on the bench where I obviously didn’t want to be.”
