Has Carson Wentz had his final chance in the NFL?
Wentz was released by the Commanders last month after one season with the team in which he played in just eight games because of injury and performance. He is now set to potentially join his third team, but ne report suggests that may not happen at all.
On the Ross Tucker Podcast, Greg Cosell stated he spoke with several coaches at the NFL combine and it gave him the sense that Wentz’s NFL career may be finished.
“My sense is, and I had conversations with a coach about this, is that Wentz’s career may be over. The feeling is he doesn’t have the mindset of a back-up because he does not enhance a QB room for whatever reason.”
The former No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles has failed to live up to his draft billing after a strong start to his career. It’s hard to believe now, but he was an MVP candidate before he tore his ACL. His career has not been the same since.
Philadelphia ended up winning the Super Bowl he got hurt.
