Carmelo Anthony thinks there are several teams in professional sports who need to change their names.
The Portland Trail Blazers small forward took to Twitter and laid out the six teams that need to change their nicknames because of the use of Native American mascot names needs to end.
The Redskins and the Cleveland Indians have already pledged to change their names going forward, but it will be interesting to see if any backlash comes against the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Braves and Chicago Blackhawks.
As for the one NBA team, Melo had the Golden State Warriors on the list.
Before the season was suspended in March due to the coronavirus, Melo was averaging 15.3 points, 6.3 boards and 1.6 assists for the Blazers in 50 games.
The 2019-20 NBA season will resume on July 30 at Walt Disney World, with Anthony and the Blazers being among the 22 teams partaking in the “bubble” games.
