Cam Newton is not interested in your underdog story.
The former Carolina Panthers quarterback is continuing to prepare for the 2020 season, but is doing so without a team to call his own after being released from the Panthers’ roster.
Newton took to Instagram over the weekend, and delivered a message to the many folks that are referring to him as a underdog.
“People love a good understory story,” Newton wrote. “This ain’t that! S**t I been a dog! #shinethrutheshade #notforlikesjustforlife”
In his post, he added workout videos where he could be seen demonstrating great footwork in passing drills. A huge accomplishment for a man coming off foot surgery after his 2019 season was shortened.
It was just five years ago when Newton won the league MVP and led his team to the Super Bowl.

Injuries have since plagued him, but he looks to make his much-anticipated return to form in 2020. He just needs a team to call his own.
