For the second time this year, Ja Morant is a trending topic for him flashing a gun on Instagram Live.
Ja Morant has been in the news all week due to a viral social media clip where he allegedly held a gun while rapping along to an NBA Youngboy song in his car.
The Memphis Grizzlies have already suspended the superstar point guard “from all team activities.”
Former NFL star Cam Newton recently offered his thoughts and he is not happy with Morant and his behavior, but more so with the people around him.
Newton is placing blame on his inner circle for not protecting him better.
“When I see Ja, I don’t blame him,” Newton said. “I blame the homeboy, the dad, girlfriend, any partner that’s around at any given point in time.”
“This is the issue. You got guys in the entourage that really want to be the dude. So, watch out. I’m talking to the homeboy, the homegirl, the girlfriend, the brother, the sister that see a monster and you don’t say s–t,” Newton explained. “He’s got $20 million a year on the line that’s in jeopardy, just to keep his nose clean? You’re goddamn right it’s my job to protect this guy.”

Based on his previous acts, the suspension might be far more severe than the eight games he earned throughout the season. Morant has big endorsements from major firms, so the NBA isn’t the only one who would be displeased.
Morant, 23, is one of the league’s most noticeable rising players, averaging 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 46.6% from the field this season.
For the second consecutive season, the Grizzlies finished 51-31 and were the second seed in the Western Conference. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the first round by the Los Angeles Lakers.
