A few weeks ago, Cam Newton came up with a nickname for rookie quarterback Mac Jones, dubbing him “Mac and Cheese”.
“Mac and Cheese, he’s pretty cool,” Newton told reporters when asked about Jones. “He’s quiet, trying to figure everybody out.”
Appearing on ESPN’s Keyshawn, JWill & Zubin, NFL analyst Bart Scott called out the New England Patriots QB for giving Jones a “disrespectful” nickname. He accused Newton of “body shaming” Jones by giving him a name like that.
“That’s disrespectful, right? That brings up something totally different,” Scott said. “‘Mac and Cheese’ is like one of the most disrespectful nicknames that I’ve heard in a long time, and this dude thinks it’s a term of endearment. Like, I don’t know if somebody told him, he’s pretty much body shaming him.”
In Cam’s defense, he has nicknames for tons of Patriots players and coaches, so coming up with creative ones for everybody has to be a tough task.

Either way, this is one of those gripes where you simply ignore it. We hope and pray Bart Scott stretched his body properly before this massive reach.
