The New Orleans Saints have been extremely stout on defense over the past few seasons, and Cameron Jordan is a huge reason why that continues to be true.
The New Orleans Saints All-Pro defensive end is coming off 66 tackles (second most of his career) and 8.5 sacks in 2022. Despite the numbers he put up, Jordan is not feeling the love from ESPN.
His name was nowhere to be found on a recent list of best edge rushers ranked by NFL executives, coaches, players, and scouts. Jordan would take to Twitter and respond to the list.
“Wonder if they have a complete True Defensive END ranking,” Jordan laughed. “Why is it edge rushers are taking away from true ends encompassed by the term edge? How many know what Stop the Run means? Me, [Brandon Graham], Nick [Bosa], Arik Armstead, [DeMarcus Lawrence] … 1st-4th downs not just the Pass.”
Here are the rankings and the honorable mention:
Nick Bosa, Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons, TJ Watt, Haason Reddick, Maxx Crosby, Brian Burns, Matthew Judon, Von Miller, and Joey Bosa. The honorable mention players include Khalil Mack, Aidan Hutchinson, Trey Hendrickson, Jaelan Phillips, and Cameron Jordan.

According to Pro Football Reference, Jordan’s 58 pass breakups are the fourth on the Saints since 1999 trailing only current teammate Marshon Lattimore (78) as well as former cornerbacks Fred Thomas (77) and Jabari Greer (68).
Jordan has combined for 115.5 sacks during his NFL career, all with the Saints. He has six seasons of double-digit sacks yet was named as an honorable mention.
Jordan is getting set to enter his 13th season and is seemingly getting better with age. Jordan is simply a jack of all trades when it comes to his value on the Saints’ defense.
