Derek Carr is a free agent, and the quarterback will likely have several teams vying for his services.
One player on a QB-needy team wasted little time making sure he knew that he wanted him.
On Tuesday, New Orleans All-Pro pass rusher Cam Jordan took to Twitter and recruited the veteran QB.
“I know I said adios to social media but Derek Carr I know it may be too soon but it’s also Valentine’s Day [are you] trynna swap out black and silver and fall in luv with BLACK & GOLD?”
If Carr was still on the Raiders roster as of 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, $40.4 million of his contract would have become fully guaranteed. Releasing him freed up around $29 million in cap space for Las Vegas and allows Carr to hit the open market a month ahead of the start of the NFL’s new league year.
Since he was released, he does not have to wait until the new league year begins March 15 to sign with a team.
