A big name wide receiver has been traded, but it’s not one of the names that has been coming up in rumors over the past few weeks.
According to reports, the Atlanta Falcons have traded suspended wide receiver Calvin Ridley to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The details of the trade describe the return for the Falcons as “complex draft compensation,” according to Ian Rapoport. The NFL insider said that the deal could amount to a maximum of a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick going Atlanta’s way.
Of course, the Jags won’t be getting Ridley anytime soon, as he was suspended for the entire 2022 season for betting on games in 2021, including games that involved his own team, the Falcons (although he wasn’t playing in those games due to mental health issues).

Ridley will eventually join Christian Kirk and Travis Etienne as another key playmaker for Trevor Lawrence to utilize on the Jags’ offense.
