A lucky sports bettor in New York is taking home a life-changing payday following an extremely improbable and successful parlay bet.
According to Ben Fawkes of VSIN The Sports Betting Network, an unnamed customer in New York won nearly $400,000 through Caesars Sportsbook by placing a $55 parlay. Fawkes listed the wagers that the fan won on:
At this point a year ago, sports betting wasn’t legal in New York. The Empire State officially launched sports betting in January of this year, and the lucky fan is surely feeling extra thankful for it.
The early afternoon slate of games featured three marquee upsets: The Pittsburgh Steelers beating Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New York Jets humiliating Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field and the Atlanta Falcons dominating the San Francisco 49ers 28-14.
Pittsburgh’s win over Tampa was especially a big-time upset because the 1-4 Steelers were without superstars T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick, their top three corners Cam Sutton, Ahkello Witherspoon and Levi Wallace.
But the Steelers’ D pieced together a remarkable effort, holding Brady and the Bucs to a mere 18 points. Mitch Trubisky replaced a concussed Kenny Pickett in the third quarter and made some clutch throws to help Pittsburgh snap a four-game losing streak.

Though the Jets entered Lambeau Field with a 3-2 record, few really thought they’d beat a Green Bay team which last lost a regular season home game in Week 8 of the 2020 season. But rookies Breece Hall and Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner turned in remarkable performances to lead the Jets to victory.
Another notable upset saw the New York Giants erase a 10-point deficit to defeat Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Daniel Jones’ late TD strike to Daniel Bellinger and Saquon Barkley’s game-winning touchdown with 1:43 remaining helped the Giants move to 5-1 for the first time since 2009.
