Poor weather has potentially ruined Christmas for the Buffalo Bills, who remain stuck in Chicago following their shellacking of the Bears on Saturday.
The Bills left home a day early just so they could avoid the snowstorm which was set to hit Western New York and keep up appearances for their Chicago fixture. Having won 35-13, the Super Bowl favorites are unable to return as Buffalo Niagara International Airport has been shut down.
“Buffalo’s airport is now scheduled to be closed until 11 am Monday, and so the Bills will have to work through their travel options to home from Chicago during and after today’s game vs. the Bears,” Adam Schefter reported right before the game between the two sides kicked off.
The Bills were criticized for not leaving a day early for their game against the Cleveland Browns, which had to be held in Detroit because of a Buffalo snowstorm. They made sure to leave early enough this time around. Now, they’re being put through a bigger annoyance.
Typically, having to hang back after a game isn’t a big deal. However, it’s Christmas Eve – not very ideal for the players and their families, who likely had plans.

NFL Network’s Stacey Dale has tweeted that the Bills will spend the night in The Windy City and fly to a nearby airport on Christmas morning, before taking a bus back home.
