Trash talk between Philadelphia Eagles fans and Buffalo Bills players nearly spiraled out of control. A group of Buffalo Bills players were seen on video confronting a Philadelphia Eagles fan during Sunday’s game at Lincoln Financial Field.
During Sunday’s match-up, before the Bills lost in overtime 37-34, defensive end Shaq Lawson, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, and other players and staff members were filmed approaching a fan in the front row.
Phillips appeared to get into a verbal argument with the spectator as his teammate Lawson then appeared to shove the fan before the argument was quickly split up and the players walked away.
A new report says the NFL is aware of threats reportedly made against the two players and their families.
“Sources tell us that the NFL and Stadium security reps were told about threats made by the fan towards the Bills players,” said 13WHAM’s Mike Catalana. “The fan remained in that spot for the rest of the game. In their posts below, both Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips say the fan made life-threatening remarks towards them and their families.”
Phillips later shared a message on Instagram, explaining how the incident came to be. “I love the crowd I love rowdy fans it makes the game fun,” he wrote. “But one thing I’m not going to tolerate is someone threatening me or my family.”

“This is a line that shouldn’t be crossed.”
Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters on Monday that the incident was a “very unfortunate situation.”
“I was brought into the loop on it this morning about the incident that took place during the game,” he said. “It’s unfortunate that that would go on during a game in particular. What I’m aware of is that people were asked to have the fan removed and nothing was done.”
“So, at the end of the day, that’s not for us to concern ourselves with at this point and it’s just unfortunate overall that that would take place during a game.”
Philadelphia won the game 37-34 in overtime. Jalen Hurts scored the game-winning rushing touchdown and helped the Eagles to their 10th win of the season.
Buffalo fell to 6-6.
