Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker has joined the chat about the Philadelphia Eagles play everyone’s been complaining about.
Philly’s infamous quarterback sneak has been the subject of many football conversations over the past few months. The play gave them a significant advantage over opposing defenses as it was almost impossible to stop, with Jalen Hurts getting pushed forward by his tight ends and other players after taking the snap for short yardage.
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert recently claimed that other teams simply hated having to deal with the sneak and it appears the Cardinals star wasn’t a fan either as he claims he nearly killed himself trying to defend it on two occasions.
“I remember almost killing myself the 2 times they do this to the Cardinals last year,” the five-time Pro Bowler wrote on Twitter. “I was a post player tryna shoot the A gap to cause a stop 3rd/4th & 1 cause everyone knew what they were gonna do… I Got my ass trampled both times and they converted. NO fear though, not smart of me either but aye I wanted to win!! #Respect ??.”
There was really no reason for the Eagles to stop using their QB sneak as it proved to be a useful weapon when it came to moving the chains and rendered opponents powerless to stop them. It’s likely they won’t be the only team using it next season because coaches would have seen how effective it was.
