A bad night for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took a very scary turn, as Bucs wideout Russell Gage suffered a frightening injury during the final minutes of his team’s Wild Card blowout against the Dallas Cowboys.
Gage appeared to go down awkwardly while trying to catch an errant Tom Brady pass and had his neck and back contorted by a Cowboys defender.
Gage attempted to get back to his feet twice, but was unable to do so. The medical team worked on him for several minutes and he was eventually carted off the field on a stretcher with what appears to be a neck and/or back injury.
Gage had been dealing with a back injury late in the season, although it’s not known if tonight’s injury is related to that. We’re just hoping he’s okay and can make a full recovery from this.
Prayers up for Russell Gage.
