The bitter feud between Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans and New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore escalated Sunday.
The incident began after Bucs quarterback Tom Brady marched down the field to confront a referee. Lattimore appeared to gesture toward the quarterback as he complained, so Brady went over to confront Lattimore. Bucs running back Leonard Fournette stepped in to defend his QB, but after Lattimore pushed him, Evans had seen enough.
The star wideout rushed over and pushed Lattimore to the ground, causing a melee involving players from both teams to break out.
Multiple flags were thrown and offsetting penalties were given out, in addition to Evans and Lattimore getting ejected.
After the game, Evans was asked about his altercation with Lattimore. The wideout answered by stating, “It gets spicy when you come to New Orleans.”
