Scary scene in Pittsburgh moments ago, as Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate took a hit over the middle of the field that resulted in him needing to be stretchered off.
The play occurred late in the third quarter, after Tom Brady hit Brate over the middle on a 2nd & 13 play. It didn’t look like much initially, but it didn’t take long for everyone to realize that we were dealing with a serious situation here.
Medical personnel had to remove Brate’s facemask as they worked on him. The good news is he was able to give the thumbs up as he was being stretchered off the field.
Sadly, this incident comes just a few weeks after Brate was allowed to re-enter a game against the Chiefs on Sunday Night football, despite having a concussion.

Brate was noticeably shaken up after the hit, but was allowed to remain in the game. After taking part in a few more plays, he exited and was placed in concussion protocol.
That’s not to say that his current injury has anything to do with his head injury from two weeks ago, but you can bet it’ll have many around the NFL talking, in light of what transpired with Tua Tagovailoa in weeks three and four.
