Defensive end J.J. Watt and the team announced he will be released from the franchise that originally drafted him.
The move wasn’t as shocking since he was due a base salary of $17.5 million, with none of it guaranteed. The QB wants out, and even with the numbers he put up last season, this franchise is in complete rebuild mode.
Shortly after JJ Watt’s release, oddsmakers started to put out where he could potentially be playing football next season.
As seen below, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the best odds of obtaining Watt, but their cap situation would be hard to get through for it to be possible. There have been rumors of a family reunion in Pittsburgh, but the Steelers are currently projected to be $30.6 million over the cap.
The Tampa Bay Bucs, who are coming off a Super Bowl victory, are next on the list to obtain Watt.
The Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, and Los Angeles Rams round out the list:
