The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are unlike most NFL teams in that they still have no idea who their starting quarterback is going to be at the present juncture.
By early August, you usually have a fair idea of who’s going to be your QB1 for the upcoming campaign. Well, with Tom Brady gone, that’s no longer the case for the Bucs as it appears none of their signal-callers have done enough to set themselves apart.
The team unveiled its first depth chart for preseason this Tuesday and it was pretty much the way fans would expect, that is until you get to the quarterback section. The Buccs have listed Baker Mayfield “OR” Kyle Trask there instead of just going with either one of the two for formality’s sake.
Of course, folks on social media were confused by the use of the unusual two-letter word. You could take a look at some of the reactions below:

As to why they didn’t just pick either Mayfield or Trask is puzzling. It really doesn’t make a difference at this point, this is a team with zero hopes of winning anything in 2023.
They’re simply looking forward to the next NFL Draft, when they can overhaul and try to challenge for another Super Bowl.
It really does seem like they did this on purpose.
