Bryce Young is expected to be taken somewhere in the first top 2 picks in the NFL Draft. For any teams looking to get another look at his arm power and accuracy, they will have to wait much later.
The former Alabama quarterback will not participate in throwing or timing drills at this week’s NFL combine, NFL Network reported Monday. Young won’t throw at the combine and instead will wait until Alabama’s pro day to showcase his arm.
He is recovered from an AC joint injury but will skip the combine’s skill events and focus only on interviews in Indianapolis.
Aside from his arm, the physical frame of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young might become an even bigger talking point coming out of the NFL Scouting Combine. Many think he might measure under 6 feet and weigh less than 200 pounds.
That should not be as notable since Drew Brees and Russell Wilson are both 6’0″ or under, and it hasn’t stopped them from enjoying Hall-of-Fame-caliber careers.
Kyler Murray is 5’10” and has two Pro Bowl appearances to his name.

The Heisman Trophy winner threw for 8,200 yards, 79 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in two years as Alabama’s starter.
Based on where Young is projected to land, his size doesn’t appear to be a major red flag.
