Bryce Young is projected to be the top quarterback pick in this year’s NFL Draft, yet there are doubts over his height and size.
Young is now the subject of discussion for reasons other than his skill, with the former Alabama Crimson Tide QBk reported to stand at 5ft 10in while he weights 195lbs.
“I’ve been this size, respectfully, my whole life,” Young said during the NFL Scouting Combine this week. “I know who I am, I know what I can do. For me, it’s fair, everyone can speculate, ask me every question. I’m going to continue to control what I can control, keep working my hardest to put myself in this position. I’m confident in myself. I know what I can do.”
While the youngster appears to be very confident in his abilities as a QB, as well he should be, Bryce’s choice of footwear has resulted in fans poking fun at him on social media.
It looks as if the college star wanted to add an inch or two to his height in a photo shared by Dave Kluge on Twitter which you could see right below:

While Young’s talent is undeniable, his size is thought to be a major worry for NFL teams. Shorter QBs aren’t known to have great pro careers but there are outliers such as Drew Brees and Russell Wilson, who have been very successful in spite of their heights.
Critics will point to the likes of Kyler Murray, Johnny Manziel, and Baker Mayfield. Even Wilson struggled a whole lot after switching teams last season, so the concerns are warranted. But, ultimately, they aren’t expected to affect the player’s draft stock.
