Bryce Young kicked off his NFL career at the Panthers’ rookie camp on Friday.
He may have been on the field, but at times, it seemed as if the 5-foot-10 quarterback was overshadowed by his offensive line.
Wearing a red No. 9 jersey, Young, the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, disappeared a line that features Ricky Lee (6-foot-5), Chandler Zavala (6-foot-5), J.D. Direnzo (6-foot-6) and Nash Jensen (6-foot-4).
Here’s the video of that first snap with his new teammates:

It’s worth noting that Young isn’t wearing pads here, which makes him look even smaller than he normally would on the field.
Young, the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner who put up eye-popping numbers in his two seasons as Alabama’s starting quarterback, measured in at just 5’ 10” at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.
One of the few knocks on Young entering the draft was his smaller size. He was by far the smallest of the top pass-throwers taken in the draft, with the likes of C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis towering over Young in comparison.
The Panthers clearly think highly of him as they traded so much to the Chicago Bears to get that No. 1 pick.
