No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young already has some fans worried as video footage from the Panthers OTAs is now circulating online.
As far as quarterbacks go, Bryce runs pretty small, though that would have been the case if he had any other profession, as he’s officially listed at 5ft 10in and 204 pounds. Should he go on to prove that the Carolina Panthers made a great decision drafting him at his size, he will be the smallest quarterback in the modern era to succeed in the NFL.
The Panthers got their first real look at the QB against NFL opposition in their OTAs this week. And he garnered rave reviews, with head coach Frank Reich claiming his command was “10 out of 10” after the first session. Teammate Andy Dalton also praised his football intelligence and interestingly noted that the younger QB uses his height to his advantage.
However, a video of one of his passes getting batted has shown him off under a very unflattering light.

To be fair, Shy Tuttle, the defensive lineman who swatted the pass stands at 6ft 3in and has a long reach. Then again, Young will be going up against many a tall DL over the course of his pro career.

Height was also going to be an issue for the rookie, but it didn’t stop him from going first overall. And we’re excited to see what he can do once the real business kicks off later this year.
