Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown and his attorney, Sean Burstyn, said in January they intend to pursue legal action against the team for releasing Brown after he said he was too injured to continue playing against the New York Jets.
Burstyn said they will pursue money for Brown’s ankle surgery and money they feel he is owed by the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement. He also said they are looking into a possible civil lawsuit in the form of defamation for the Bucs claiming Brown had a spontaneous mental health episode.
During an appearance with The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians actually offered some kind words of praise for Brown.
“Nobody works any harder than [Antonio Brown],” Arians said. “He’s always in great shape, skill-set’s unbelievable. He’s one of those guys that doesn’t age.”
When the veteran wide receiver refused to go back into what would be his final game against the Jets, Arians apparently told him to “get the f*** out of here.”
“I was sad the way it happened, but it happened,” the Super Bowl-winning head coach said.

Brown claimed that the Bucs offered him $200,000 to sit on the sideline and commit himself to mental health treatment, which Brown refused to do.
“These guys at the Tampa Bay Bucs tried to make an agreement with me to give me $200,000 to go to the crazy house so these guys could look like they know what they were talking about,” Brown said.
Arians may be speaking highly of Brown now, but he would in no way accept back on his team going forward. That bridge has been burned.
