Bruce Arians does not want any stupid penalties. And he’s willing to slap a player in the head in order to make sure it doesn’t happen.
Following a muffed punt in the second half by Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jalen Reagor, a pile formed as players from both teams tried to recover the loose ball.
As the refs moved in to try and clear the pile, one Bucs player could be seen trying to remove an Eagles player from the mess. That type of action can often cause result in some hostilities being exchanged, and Arians wanted none of that. So the Buccaneers coach quickly stepped in, rushing onto the field and slapping Andrew Adams in the side of the head.
Cameras caught the entire thing, which isn’t exactly a good look for Bruce:
Arians has also been facing criticism from some based on how he handled Antonio Brown’s injury during his meltdown game against the Jets in week 17. Brown had claimed that he was too injured to play, and felt as though the team was ignoring his concerns. That drama seems to have died down, but I’m sure Arians is going to have to answer for his latest actions following today’s game.
And as far as that game goes, the Bucs are cruising to an easy win over the Eagles.
