Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported on Friday that the Cleveland Browns and Myles Garrett have engaged in contract discussions, which set the stage for a potential mega-extension this summer.
Browns are trying to get this extension done now rather than later before the price on Myles goes up even higher. The defensive end has another two years left on his rookie deal.
Top-end pass rushers are looking for over $20 million per year right now.
The 24-year-old stands to make a base salary of $4.61 million for the 2020 season.
In 2019, Garrett appeared in 10 games and recorded 29 tackles, 10 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
