Russell Wilson was trying every possible tactic to give the Denver Broncos an edge over his former team in the Seattle Seahawks. NFL Films released a video of Wilson telling his teammates on Denver’s sideline to yell “run” or “pass” when the Seahawks were on offense.
The brief clip of Wilson encouraging his teammates to help out the defense went viral and got a former player to comment on it.
Former Browns great Joe Thomas took to Twitter and called out the tactic as not helping much at all.
“Not sure this helps…I’ve never played defense in the NFL, but I can’t imagine that having 5 sideline players meagerly yell “pass” (a few seconds after the QB clearly drops back to pass) is going to remind the linebackers to drop into coverage.”
The tactic really did not help much since the Broncos kept turning the ball over on offense and it cost them the game in the end.
The new $245 million QB has gotten off to a terrible start with 559 yards, 2 TDs, 1 Int, and a horrid 48.9 QBR through two games.
