The Cleveland Browns will have plenty of motivation heading into their week 2 Monday night matchup with the New York Jets. Not only will they be looking to rebound on national television following an embarrassing week one home loss to the Tennessee Titans, but plenty of the Browns players will also be looking to stick it to the Jets’ head coach, Gregg Williams.
Williams, who was the defensive coordinator and intern head coach of the Browns last season, has already been engaged in a bit of a back-and-forth with Browns wideout Odell Beckham throughout the week. And it appears as though OBJ isn’t the only one with some hard feelings towards the controversial coach.
Here’s what Cleveland cornerback Damarious Randall told cleveland.com about Williams in a recent interview:
“I don’t got no love for him at all,’’ Randall told cleveland.com. “I’m happy he didn’t get the job here. Because if Gregg would’ve gotten the job here, I would’ve requested a trade immediately.’’
Randall went so far as to say he ‘’hates’’ the former Browns defensive coordinator and interim coach.
Hate is a strong word, but Randall obviously isn’t afraid to use it when describing how he feels about Williams. Doesn’t sound like they’ll be exchanging any handshakes before or after the game.
