The Cleveland Browns have made another big move at quarterback ahead of their pivotal Week 14 home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Browns have waived backup QB P.J. Walker and elevated Joe Flacco from the practice squad. Head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn’t yet announced if Flacco or rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson will start the game.
Cleveland lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson for the year with a season-ending shoulder injury following the club’s Week 10 win against the Baltimore Ravens. Thompson-Robinson started three games in Watson’s place, but Flacco got the nod in the Browns’ Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams with the rookie out due to a concussion.
The 28-year-old Walker appeared in six games for the Browns this year, going 1-1 in his two starts. The former XFL star completed 48.6 percent of his pass attempts for 674 yards, one touchdown and five interceptions.
