The Cleveland Browns are not a happy franchise this week and it has everything to do with the Washington Redskins.
Cleveland general manager John Dorsey made it clear he was all-in on trying to acquire Trent Williams from the Washington Redskins, which is why he offered the team a first-round pick to get him.
According to a report from Yahoo Sports insider Charles Robinson, the Redskins initially turned down Dorsey’s offer, however, Washington would soon contact them back close to the deadline in an attempt to re-ignite talks with the Browns.
The calls reportedly left the Browns “furious” with the Redskins.
“‘The Cleveland Browns are furious with the Washington Redskins over Trent Williams.’ Says 6 weeks ago, Redskins could’ve had 1st rd pk for Williams from CLE. WASH waited 6 weeks, CLE basically said ‘kiss my ass, you’re not calling me now,’” Robinson said.
Williams has since reported to the Redskins, but still has zero plans to play for the team this season.
