Prayers are needed as the voice of the Cleveland Browns is getting set to have the fight of his life again after his cancer came back.
Jim Donovan, our longtime sports anchor and the play-by-play voice of the Cleveland Browns, has announced that he is once again battling leukemia.
On Wednesday, Jimmy stated the trouble started more than a year ago.
“I noticed something was amiss with my health,” he explained. “My concerns were confirmed to me and it was told to me that I had a relapse of leukemia.”
After being diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in 2000, Jimmy began his fight against the disease which ultimately resulted in a bone-marrow transplant in the summer of 2011.
“Our thoughts and the thoughts of the entire organization are with Jim and his family right now in this difficult time,” Dee and Jimmy Haslam said. “There is no better representative of the Cleveland Browns. He is as tough as they come and proved as much in his previous battle. We’re all behind Jim and will do everything we can to support him. We look forward to him winning this fight, being around the team, and continuing to call our games during the season.”

In 1999 Donovan became the “Voice of the Cleveland Browns” and this coming season will be his 25th on the air. He’s seen many head coaches and quarterbacks come through in that time, but his voice has never changed.
Hopefully, he comes out on top and will be able to call the games for the Browns for the upcoming 2023 season.
The team has expectations of being good with Deshaun Watson having a full training camp and being eligible to play in all games, unlike last year when he was suspended for 11 of them due to his sexual misconduct off the field.
Jim Donovan is virtually loved amongst Cleveland Browns fans and they’ll be with him once again through this battle.
