Injuries have been a constant for KJ Hamler, and another setback will cost him several months this offseason.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Broncos WR K.J. Hamler recently underwent surgery after suffering a partially torn pec while training on his own. Hamler is looking at a recovery timeline of four to six months, which means he has an outside chance of being ready around the start of training camp in late July.
The 23-year-old only played in seven games last season and has not eclipsed 200 receiving yards in a campaign since his 2020 rookie slate.
Hamler missed four games as a rookie. He missed 14 in 2021 because of a torn ACL and a hip injury. Before he suffered an injury in 2022, his name came up in trade talks. However, his constant slew of injuries will stop any team from coming after him.
Now, he is in a contract year and will miss Sean Payton’s first off-season program.
In 2022, Hamler appeared in seven games for the Broncos and caught seven passes for 165 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
