This morning, a report broke suggesting that the Denver Broncos intended to “swing big” in their latest head coaching pursuit.
Now, it appears as though we have confirmation, as the latest reports claim that Denver has already reached out to at least one of the three big-name candidates that they were expected to pursue.
According to sources, via ProFootballTalk, the Broncos have already reached out to Jim Harbaugh to inform him that they would like to speak to him about their head coaching vacancy.
Harbaugh is still probably trying to process that heartbreaking loss that his Michigan Wolverines suffered against TCU during Saturday’s College Football Playoff semi-final.
He, along with Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton were expected to be at the top of the Broncos’ high-profile list of coaching candidates.

Whether Harbaugh has any interest in the job is another story, though. After speaking with the Minnesota Vikings about a head coaching job last offseason, Harbaugh vowed to never return to the NFL. Then again, he’s also spoken about the possibility of winning a Super Bowl recently.
At this point, you’d have to think that anything is possible.
