The San Francisco 49ers initially appeared as though they would be without their starting quarterback for their Week 8 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, but that won’t be the case.
The San Francisco 49ers have announced that QB Brock Purdy has cleared concussion protocol and has no injury designation as he gets set to face the Bengals on Sunday.
Purdy started having concussion-like symptoms on the plane ride home following San Francisco’s 22-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.
Purdy received all appropriate and required clearances, both from team doctors and from an independent neurologist. However, fans are extremely worried about him playing just six days after his concussion.
“49ers QB Brock Purdy was cleared to play, six days after suffering a concussion. If he suffers another one today vs. the Bengals, the NFL will have a mess on its hands,” Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk said.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel is ruled out for the upcoming game with a shoulder injury so the game is definitely going to be much tougher for Purdy and company.
The 49ers desperately are trying to stop a two-game losing streak.
