As expected, the NFL has sold another playoff game to a streaming company, and fans are understandably upset.
The league experienced rife backlash after putting the Chiefs-Dolphins Wild Card Round game on Peacock this year, but that hasn’t stopped them from making another deal with a streaming service as Front Office Sports is reporting that Amazon is set to pay a record $120 million for broadcast rights to a postseason fixture next season.
“Amazon Prime Video will pay a record $120 million to stream its first NFL playoff game after the 2024 season, sources tell @FOS,” Michael McCarthy tweeted on Wednesday. “Last year, @NFLonPrime passed on Wild Card Playoff that went to Peacock. But Prime never makes same mistake twice.”

Peacock parted ways with $110 million for the aforementioned game last season, and it appears Amazon Prime will be paying the price for coming in second as they’re to pay an additional $10 million.
It also appears that such deals are going to continue moving forward. We might as well get used to it.
