Following an up-and-down season for star quarterback Patrick Mahomes that saw his fiancée Brittany Matthews and younger brother Jackson make headlines multiple times for various things that set social media on fire, the 26-year-old signal-caller allegedly told his son to be wife and brother to stop attending Kansas City Chiefs games next season.
At least that’s what Fox Sports host Rich Ohrnberger, who played in the NFL for a number of teams, reported.
Unfortunately, it was all made up.
“I’ve been told, Patrick Mahomes had a sit down following the season with his brother and fiancé,” Ohrnberger tweeted on Friday. “Ultimately it concluded with him asking them to not attend any games this upcoming season. Not surprisingly, Mahomes believes that Jackson and Brittany have become a distraction, and their sideline antics are bad for his brand. A lot can change over an offseason, but for now that’s the story as it was told to me.”
Matthews eventually responded to a fan on Twitter who said hating on her is the “cool” thing to do.
“Yup the cool thing to do. Quite hysterical how something like that can become cool,” she said on Twitter.

She also responded to Pat’s tweet regarding the whole situation:
Matthews, who traveled with her fiancé to the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas, came under fire on social media for spraying champagne on the crowd when the Chiefs defeated the Bills in the playoffs.
She responded to the controversy by making her own “Team Brittany” shirts.
“There has been quite a bit of buzz this week and it’s been a pretty rough week over here,” she said in an Instagram Story at the time. “However, me and my team have decided to try to turn this buzz into something and something good for the Kansas City community.”
Mahomes hasn’t publicly criticized his little brother and has adamantly defended Matthews. He doesn’t seem like the type to tell his family to stay away frm his profession. He not only does it for hismelf, but also for them.
