Brittany Matthews got herself a ring this offseason after she and Patrick Mahomes finally got married.
This week, Mahomes was in a sharing mood so she let fans ask her various questions that she would answer. Among those questions was one that asked “How do you continue each day with such grace in such a hateful world?”
“Honestly, I have no other choice!” she replied. “I would never let people on the internet destroy my peace or effect my life. BUT. It’s been hard, it took time to learn this and still learning at times.
“It’s always gonna be there, at times its worse then others & at those times is when you won’t see me on here or the internet. Hence why I have taken such huge steps away from social media. It’s a toxic and horrible place at times and those are when I say peace out.”
“My world outside of social media is great. I have the right people around me always and that’s where I stay when people on here wanna be sh-tty. Not my problem, bye.”

Matthews, along with Mahomes’ younger brother Jackson, have been targeted by online trolls, but some of those attacks were from controversial things they have said or did. Matthews caught a ton of heat in January for spraying champagne into the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium.
Jackson, among other things, got blasted for doing TikTok dances on the memorial spot for Sean Taylor when the team faced off against Washington.
In a separate Instagram Story, Matthews told her followers that she’s enjoyed living in the present and not sharing every detail of her life online.
“Not really present on here as much, life is great and I enjoy not being on my phone and feeling like I have to share every last moment on here,” she said.
