Brittany Mahomes, the wife of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, recently spoke out against online trolls who were targeting her brother-in-law, Jackson Mahomes.
Since being in the spotlight, Jackson has taken a ton of criticism from people online who view him as disrespectful and overall annoying. He’s pretty much proved that time and time again with the things that he does and says.
Jackson, who is also a social media influencer, faced a wave of backlash after he was filmed dancing on the memorial logo for Sean Taylor when the team faced off against the Washington Commanders a few seasons ago.
Matthews, the wife of two-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes, came to the defense of her brother-in-law on social media Sunday, calling his critics “ignorant.”
The 27-year-old answered a number of questions about her life and marriage to the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback when one user asked about the criticism her brother-in-law, Jackson Mahomes, receives.
“They are ignorant,” she responded in her Instagram Stories. “He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s— about him.”

She continued: “So it’s best to just shut up.”
This year, Mahomes is facing his biggest issue as he is currently being investigated for allegedly shoving a waiter and forcibly kissing the female owner of a Kansas restaurant, The Kansas City Star reported in March.
A lawyer for Mahomes denied the allegations.
“Jackson has done nothing wrong,” Brandan Davies said at the time. “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser, including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
Jackson has since been arrested and bailed out for his actions.
Mahomes’ defense of Jackson comes amid a larger conversation about the treatment of social media influencers, particularly those who are related to famous people. Some have argued that these influencers face undue scrutiny and criticism simply because of their association with a celebrity.
Regardless of one’s opinion on the matter, it is clear that Brittany Mahomes is fiercely protective of her family and will not tolerate online bullying or harassment. Her message serves as a reminder that even those in the public eye are human beings who deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.
Will her words actually change the opinions of online trolls moving forward? Not a chance.
