The football world is still reeling over the news of Louis Nix’s tragic death, just days after he was reported missing.
Nix’s death was confirmed on Saturday night by his mother. He was only 29-years-old.
He was an absolute star for the Fighting Irish from 2011-13, helping the 12-0 team in 2012 reach the BCS National Championship Game.
His former head coach Brian Kelly paid tribute to him on Twitter.
“Louis Nix, “Irish Chocolate,” we carry these memories until we see you again,” Kelly wrote.
Following his career with the Irish, Nix was selected in the third-round by the Houston Texans in 2014. Unfortunately, his NFL career never panned out due to injuries.
