Brian Gutekunst is speaking out about Aaron Rodgers just like the QB has been doing about the franchise.
The Green Bay Packers general manager is currently in the modst of trying to move the legendary QB to the Jets, but compensation has been holding up a trade with New York.
Amid reports speculating why talks with the Jets have stalled, he provided an update to what the team is looking for in compensation.
Gutekunst said that despite the reports that the Packers are demanding a first-round pick from the New York Jets as part of a Rodgers trade, he doesn’t necessarily need it to complete the deal.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network tweeted, “Packers GM Brian Gutekunst just met with a small group of media here in Phoenix. No timeline on trading Aaron Rodgers, hoping soon. Doesn’t necessarily need a first-round pick. Any chance Rodgers plays for GB again? Not trending that way but ‘all options are on the table.’”
Gutekunst spoke to NFL media Monday at the Annual League Meetings and also stated there currently isn’t a timeline for when a potential deal with the New York Jets could be done and that it’s not very likely that Rodgers returns to the Packers next season.

Rodgers announced his intention to play for the New York Jets on the Pat McAfee Show on March 15th. Last week, Ian Rapoport reported that a trade between the Jets and Green Bay Packers could wait until the NFL draft in late April.
This ongoing saga might continue for awhile.
