Brian Flores has his sights set on taking down the NFL’s racist hiring process, and it looks like he’s willing to take down anyone that gets in his way of doing just that. Enter Bill Belichick, coach of the New England Patriots, who just so happened to send Flores some text messages that are now being exposed by the former Miami Dolphins coach.
Earlier it was announced that Flores was filing a lawsuit against the NFL, as well as the New York Giants, alleging he was the victim of racism during their recent hiring process.
Included in his lawsuit is a text message exchange Flores had with Belichick, during which the Pats’ head coach informed Brian that he was the Giants’ “guy,” believing that he was talking to Brian Daboll, and not Brian Flores.
Damn, that’s awkward. There may be no person in the NFL I’d expect to mess up like this while using technology than Bill Belichick.
You may be reading those messages and wondering exactly what the problem is. Well, it turns out they they were sent to Flores before he had even interviewed for the Giants’ head coaching job — meaning the Giants already had their man, and were simply interviewing Flores to satisfy their requirements under the Rooney Rule.

This is obviously a terrible looks for the Giants and the NFL. As for Belichick, he’s really not in the wrong here. He just needs to do a better job double-checking exactly who he’s sending his text messages to.
