There ain’t nothing like tokin’ and drafting.
After watching New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll rip a vape on live television during this weekend’s draft, I can’t help but think that these NFL Drafts truly are a lot like your average Joe’s fantasy football draft.
You’ve taken weeks, months, even years of studying with you into your draft room. You know the plan, but the nerves are still at an all time high. And sometimes you just need a little something to take the edge off.
In Daboll’s case, it happened after the Giants took Minnesota center John Michael Schmitz in the third round with the 57th overall pick.
Whatever was in that vape must have been pretty good stuff, as Daboll and the Giants appeared to have themselves a pretty solid draft… at least according to Mel Kiper.
The ESPN draft analyst graded the Giants draft as an A-, giving them the third-best grade behind the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks.

The Giants used the 24th overall pick on Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks, before taking Schmitz and Tennessee wideout Jalin Hyatt (73rd overall) on day two of the draft.
The team is coming off a playoff berth and a wild card victory in Daboll’s first season at the helm. If he can get some significant production from this year’s crop of rookies, it could be in for another successful season in the Meadowlands.
Meanwhile Broncos new head coach Sean Payton was hitting the bong.
