The situation surrounding Brett Favre and welfare funds from Mississippi continues to get worse for him.
The long-time Green Bay Packers quarterback has denied knowledge of the fact that the roughly $1 million in welfare funds he received came from money meant for families in need. According to an article by Mississippi Today published this week, a series of text messages could contradict Favre’s claims.
Per the report, messages show then-Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant helping Favre with the funding proposal for a new volleyball stadium at Southern Miss — his alma mater and the same school where his daughter played volleyball.
Favre being in trouble over some text messages makes you remember what Jenn Sterger went through over a decade ago. Sterger is best known as the “Brett Favre Girl” after the Hall-of-Fame and Super Bowl-winning quarterback came under fire for allegedly sending her lewd pictures.
On Tuesday, she took to Twitter and destroyed him with one perfect tweet:
“Oh.. NOWWWWW he gets in trouble for inappropriate texts.”

Sterger has proved she’s much more than a cowboy hat, skimpy bikini and tight denim shorts since her college days. She launched a media career that included stops at Sports Illustrated and ABC and even stripped down naked for Playboy and Maxim.
Just maybe this time, Favre won’t get away with his bad deeds.
