Brett Favre knows what it is like to suffer a concussion, having got a brutal one late in his career with the Minnesota Vikings.
That is one reason why the legendary QB wants Patrick Mahomes to be extra careful moving forward.
“I played 321 straight games, it kind of goes against everything I stood for when I played. But, you got to be smart. You’ve got to be smart,” Favre said of Mahomes potentially playing this week.
The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback left the Divisional Round win over the Cleveland Browns with a potential concussion after Mack Wilson tackled him awkwardly to the ground. He appeared to stumble as he made his way off the ground and was taken to the locker room.
“When you’re in the moment, and you’re young, you’re bulletproof, man,” Favre said. “But, I’m 51 years old and I’m wondering what tomorrow will bring because of concussions more than anything.”
