Aaron Rodgers has been traded to the Jets just as his predecessor was so many years ago.
For much of the offseason, Aaron Rodgers getting traded to the New York Jets has seemed inevitable. On Monday afternoon, it finally came to fruition, with the Jets and Green Bay Packers agreeing on a blockbuster deal for Rodgers.
15 years ago, the Packers and Jets went through this already when MVP, Super Bowl-winning, future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre was dealt to New York.
Fast forward to 2023 and now he is reacting to Rodgers following in his footsteps.
In a text message to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Favre said he expects Rodgers will “do great” with the Jets.
“Aaron will do great!!!!” Favre said. “He will handle the transition as well as anyone. [He’s a] very smart and instinctive person, on and off the field. In other words, you’re not going to catch him by surprise very often.
“And I think [he’s] the best at making everyone around him better. I would rather not bet at all than best against him.”

While the deal is agreed to, there are still some final things that need to be ironed out between all the parties involved. One of those issues that need to be tackled is Rodgers’ contract which will need to be restructured in order for the deal to be able to go through for salary cap purposes, but it looks like he has already taken care of it.
Rodgers has already shown up in town for his press conference to officially become a member of the Jets.
Rodgers has moved on in a quest to get back to the Super Bowl for the second time in his career.
For the Packers, the Jordan Love era can now start as the young QB will finally be handed the keys to the franchise.
