Alex Smith last played football back in 2018 against the Houston Texans when he suffered a devastating leg injury that required him to have over 15 surgeries to repair the damage that was done.
Smith, who suffered a devastating tibia and fibula fracture in 2018, received clearance from his surgical team to return to full football activity back in July. That was just the start of the good news for the veteran QB.
On Sunday, the Washington Football Team made the move official by announcing QB Alex Smith is activated off the active/PUP list.
On Saturday, Smith’s wife, Elizabeth Smith, indicated that there was good news coming for Alex.
Before his injury, Smith completed 205 of 308 passes for 2,180 yards and 10 touchdowns with five interceptions on the season and led the Redskins to a 6-3 record.
