BREAKING: Vikings RB Dalvin Cook Out For Week 17 After Father Suddenly Passes Away

Dalvin Cook is a broken man this week.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the Minnesota Vikings running back had an unexpected family emergency come up and had to leave to go to Miami. As a result, Cook will be unavailable to play Sunday against the Lions as he won’t pass through the COVID-19 re-entry protocols in time.

It would later be revealed that his father had passed away.

Source says that #Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is flying now back home to Miami due to his father James Cook dying at the age of 46. Cook will not play in Sunday's finale at Detroit. Source said James Cook had been diabetic. Condolences to Dalvin's family.

In 2020, Cook appeared in 14 games for the Vikings and rushed for 1,557 yards on 312 carries (5 YPC) with 16 touchdowns to go along with 44 receptions for 361 yards receiving and another touchdown.
